Nutrients that the body needs are provided by the food we eat – but it is important to realise that no one specific food or food group alone is sufficient to provide all the nutrients needed for good health and successful performance out on the road, track or field. Based on the work of eminent Russian throws coach and training theory expert Anatoli Bondarchuk, the Exercise Classification Hierarchy is a basic system that coaches can employ to help understand how to rationalise and plan their training, on both a short term and long term basis.
The Exercise Classification Hierarchy, can be used with all events and will form the basis of many future presentations on planning and strategy posted here on uCoach.
