Bolton Harrier Pete Bellis recently reached a huge personal milestone as he completed one of Britain's toughest races for the 21st time. Supported by a group of Bolton Harriers runners, Bellis travelled to Fort William last weekend to take part in the Ben Nevis race. This gruelling event goes straight up and down Britain's highest mountain, climbing steeply from the start in Fort William to the peak at 4406 feet. He successfully completed the race in 2 hours 32 mins in terrible conditions which saw competitors battling torrential rain, gale force winds and very cold temperatures as well as the mountain.
Pete was presented with a Connochie Plaque, given to runners who complete 21 races, to mark his achievement.
Other BUH runners included Graham Shaw (2:35:22), Ian Smith (2:39:19) and Gary Jones (2:43:58).
