Tom Carson continued his excellent form with a Silver medal winning performance at the Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships last weekend. Carson, leader of the Red Rose Cross Country League Under 15s, finished runner-up to a strong performance by Sale Harrier James Beckett on the 6km course at Chesham Fields in Bury. Carson will be in action in the final league race at Rossendale this weekend after winning the last two races in the series.
Fraser Jardine returned to action after a recent injury with 12th in the Under 17 men, followed by Robert Ashworth in 15th, while improving Alex Chadwick was 8th Under 20. John Ward continued his good form with Silver in the Over 55 category.
Other Harriers in action at Bury were Catherine Jones, 13th in the Under 13 girls and Oriel Hardman 11th U/15. The Red Rose League concludes this weekend at Marl Pits Rossendale with both Tom Carson and John Ward odds on to take individual honours in the series.
