Simon Bissell recorded a superb treble as Bolton Harriers senior team continued its domination of Northern League Division 2 West. The team notched another resounding victory at Woodbank Park Stockport as thrower Bissell easily won his specialist event the Hammer, before adding wins in the Discus and Shot Putt.

John Nicholson won the B Shot Putt and Discus in a huge points haul in the field events. Teenager Matt Osbourne was also in fine form, winning the Long Jump and B 200m events, while Chris Sinclair took the Triple Jump and B Long Jump. Hannah Scholes competed well against more experienced rivals to take 2nd in both the Long and Triple Jump. The 16 year-old recorded distances of 4.38m and 9.37m.

Rachel Pounds ran well to take 400m victory in 61.7 seconds, and Liz Proctor and Cath Brogan placed 2nd A and 1st B in the 1500m. Emma Thornton was 2nd in the Javelin with a 36 metre throw, and had excellent support from youngster Rebecca Makin, who won the B event. On the track Chris Iddon made a welcome return to action after a series of injury problems to win the B 800m in a fraction over 2 minutes. Carl Hardman won the 5000m after leaving his rivals trailing with a blistering start, with Andy Parker completing the double by winning the B event.. Christian Eckersley and Sam Gough took 2nd A and 1st B in the 400m with times of 51.6 and 52.2 seconds.
