Twelve Bolton United Harriers will be representing Greater Manchester in the Regional finals of the sporthall championships which will be held at Robin Park, Wigan on the 24th February following their success in the Greater Manchester County Championships, in the under 13 age group Will Valentine, Callum Ashton, Rob Makin, Lorna Miller, Rachel Mcmorran, and Emma Wiggans will represent the county and will be joined by Josh Boaler, Anthony Dunn, Jack Taylor, Alan Woods, Ashley Marshall and Mea Delvard in the under 15 age group.
Meanwhile on Saturday 23rd February the Harriers cross country runners will be out in force at the National Cross Country Championships which this year are being held at Alton Towers Staffordshire. The event brings the best in the country together and there will be special interest in the senior mens race where Tom Lancashire will be running. Tom has had an excellent winter season which has seen him seen him win a gold medal at the European cross Country Championships as part of the winning team and finish 3rd in the senior men Northern Cross country championships. In the under 13 Boys race Callum Short will be hoping for a medal after an excellent season that has seen him winning 2 of the UK Cross Country Challenge Series around the country and finishing 2nd in Belfast following a fall He has also won the Red Rose Cross country League as well as finishing second in the Northern Championships and the recent Greater Manchester Schools Cross Country Championships
