International star Tom Lancashire was fifth in 1500m in Belgrade today – a position he was “gutted” with after a “messy race”.

His 3:46.57 was some way off his PB, but in a cagey slow race after getting ‘boxed in’, he surged to second with two laps to go as the pace began to increase. Poland’s Marcin Lewandowski (3:44.82) worked his way through to the front and led out for a last lap victory. Despite the lack of a medal, it’s great to see the Bromley Cross man back competing at the highest level after years of injury niggles.
