Kayli English competed in the North West Championships for Deaf & Disabled at SportsCity, Manchester today, returning with three medals.
First up was the 400m and the U18 Blue Vest claimed a silver medal despite hand spasms hampering her push around the track. Unfortunately, another problem then arose ahead of the 100m – this time a mechanical with the wheels on the racing wheelchair, which prevented Kayli from starting the race. Things could only improve! They did when she claimed gold in the 800 metres with a PB of 3:15.5, before going on to finish first in the 200m in 45.9s – another PB!
Kayli now goes on to compete in the National Junior Championships at Coventry in July.
