Bolton United Harriers & AC organise various races throughout the year. Ordered by calendar year below, further information on entry conditions, route maps, archived results and photo links can be found on the individual race pages.
Road Race – Central Lancashire 5K
In mid-February, Leverhulme Park is the setting for the Central Lancashire 5K – the annual opening fixture of the CLGP. It is a predominantly inter-club race with 300 entrants, though unaffiliated members of the public are welcome. The 2017 event is on Sunday, 19th February at 10.00am. Road Race – Bolton 10K
The Bolton 10K is the Club’s well established endurance event. It is hosted every April on the same weekend as the London Marathon and as of 2012, has evolved into a two lap course on approximately 90% roads and 10% unsealed parkland tracks around and within Leverhulme Park. The 2017 event is on Sunday, 23rd April at 10am. More details are on the Bolton 10K website.
Fell Race – Last Drop Loop
The Last Drop Loop is a demanding Fell Race in May. Based from the Last Drop Village off Hospital Road (BL7 9PZ), it is a BS-graded course that crosses the high moorland of the Pennines overlooking north Bolton. The 2017 event is on Saturday, TBC May at 1.30pm. More details are on the LDL fell race page.
Track & Field – Bolton YDL (Juniors)
Youth Development League (Upper and Lower) Track & Field Divisional meetings take place between April and July. Bolton usually host a meeting depending on fixture arrangements. Visiting teams are advised that there is room on the track periphery for small tents. Free car parking is available at the venue.
Track & Field – Bolton NoE (Seniors)
North of England Track & Field Divisional meetings take place between May and August. Bolton usually host a meeting depending on fixture arrangements. Visiting teams are advised that there is room on the track periphery for small tents. Free car parking is available at the venue.
Track & Field – Club Juniors
The Junior Track & Field Championships take place in September. This is a closed competition open to BUH&AC juniors.
Cross Country – Red Rose Cross Country Bolton
The Red Rose Cross Country league’s Bolton fixture is usually the final event of the series and is held between late November and early December. Five different courses, that utilise the varied terrain within Leverhulme Park, are used for the races that are run in age-group categories. Like the CL5K, it is predominantly an inter-club race series with 300+ entrants, though unaffiliated members of the public are welcome. More details are on the RRXC Bolton race page.
