Bolton United Harriers & Athletic Club (BUH&AC) is the town’s oldest running club, with a proud history of “running, jumping and throwing since 1908”. To ensure we continue this legacy and remain at the forefront of all athletic events, we are looking for members to step forward and fill several vacancies on our General Committee.
The Challenge
Currently, our committee activities are constrained due to low numbers. While the club is managed in theory by a committee of 18 defined positions, we are operating with a significantly reduced team. This limits our capacity to deliver all the aspects of club life that our members deserve.
The Opportunity
Increasing our committee numbers will lead to an increased ability to complete tasks and ensure, not only the smoother running of the club, but create opportunities for the club to improve. By joining, you will help us to provide an environment where all individuals—across all of our members—can develop to their full potential, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
Available Roles
Under our constitution, roles range from core executive leadership (such as Chairperson or Secretary) to specialised support in areas like:
- Finance
- Digital Media & Communications
- Development & Projects
- Events Management
- Social Coordination
- Team Management (Senior/Junior Track & Field and Endurance)
- Training Group Coordination
Who Can Be a Committee Member?
We welcome First Claim members and the parents or legal guardians of our junior members. We strive to create an environment where all volunteers are proud to be involved in the club.
