It is with deepest regret and sympathy to the family, that we announce the passing of a Bolton United Harriers stalwart, Ken (Kenny) Mayor on 28th September.
Kenny was a member of the club from 1967 onwards where he joined from leaving the Army. Ken loved his athletics and Bolton Harriers especially, and was regularly seen shouting people on at Red Rose Cross Country events over the years and doing long distance running events with his good friend and partner in crime Tommy Parr.
A larger than life character Ken was often known to be heard before he was seen and was a loyal supporter of the club.
The Funeral is on 29th Oct at Overdale crematorium, chorley new rd, at the West wing Chapel @ 11am. If anyone wishes to attend, the family have asked that you please wear sports clothing.
There will be a wake held afterwards @ Ellesmere Road Recreation Club, Ellesmere Road, Morris Green from 12 until 6pm for anyone wishing to attend.
The club has donated a Bolton vest to be draped across the coffin at the family’s request.
